Out to the ballgame...

We took our first family outing to an Arkansas Traveler's game Sunday. Of course, the kids were not really interested in the game (much to Trav's disappointment), but luckily, there was plenty of other things to do.

For instance, there was free ice cream on the way in. Score!

Tanner wanted some so badly... we couldn't resist giving him his own.

Gracie found $5 on the ground and used it to buy some cotton candy to go with the lemonade. Tessa is, of course, way too busy to acknowledge the camera!

And while we enjoyed the sunshine, there was plenty of room to walk around and play. (Don't worry - Tanner refused his hat, but wore plenty of sunscreen).

It was a beautiful day to be out and about. And the multi-million dollar ballpark is pretty fabulous... It was fun, but we didn't last the whole game. Once the kid area with the inflatable slides closed and the cotton candy was gone, we were all ready to go home! :-)

Belle Of The Ball

Gracie attended her school's "social" tonight - which, yes, they called the "Prom".

It was a grand event which Gracie has been anxiously awaiting for over a month. We had a special shopping trip to find a dress and some shoes earlier this week, and after non-stop asking "Is today my prom" for the last three days... it was finally here.

As you might imagine, it was an energetic atmosphere with lots of chaos as 100 some odd 5 year olds were getting jiggy with it while all of the parents stood and watched behind their digital camcorders (myself included). HA!

At the end of the night, when we had endured all the Hannah Montana we could stand, the DJ gave us a break and indulged the grown up crowd by playing the electric slide... Gracie was very impressed and wanted to know how everyone knew that dance already and where did they learn it?? HA!

Baby Steps...

Tanner is "officially" walking! He's been sporadically taking steps for a few weeks, but seems to really have the hang of it now. If he's anything like his sisters in this area, he'll be sprinting down the hall by next week... :-)

Whatever America!

So, Brooke, my favorite, was booted off Idol last night. Obviously, I'm bitter.

This was from the LA Times site:

No one can say that Brooke White did not bring something distinctive to the show; a compelling husky voice, competent performing skills, largely good taste in song picks and a breakthrough for the singer/songwriter category which has never previously had much luck in Idol. And in the Idoldome Wednesday night while there seemed to be a general sense that this was about the right time for her, there was also genuine affection and appreciation for what she brought to the stage.

It was not the right time for her to go. I knew she wouldn't win, but she certainly deserved to outlive Jason Castro, who after his last three weak and miserable performances just proves people under 16 shouldn't be allowed to vote!!

So to Brooke's critics, stop sipping your "hater-ade" (especially you, Steve) - I bet she gets a record deal! HA!
